Companies
The activities of companies are regulated by the Companies Act, as well as their Memorandum and Articles of Association.
- Companies limited by shares may be either public (which shares may be placed on the stock exchange) or private.
- Companies limited by guarantee have no authorized capital, but their members guarantee payment of the specified (usually nominal) amount in case of liquidation. Companies limited by guarantee are usually used for charitable and non-profit organizations.
- Private unlimited companies have unlimited liability for their members in the event of termination of activities and are quite rare.
